Environmental, social and governance (ESG) best practices are key to any successful organization. ESG has long been a core part of our culture here at Netskope, and we are pleased to share recognition from important business sustainability authorities on the progress we continue to make. Netskope recently undertook an EcoVadis accreditation and received a Silver Medal rating.
This is exciting news, and I’d like to share a bit more on what exactly this rating means and why it is important for both Netskope and our customers, suppliers, investors, and supporters.
EcoVadis evaluates over 100,000 businesses and organizations, across more than 200 sectors and 175 countries through an audit of their ESG programs, offering a rating based on performance in several categories. EcoVadis’s mission is to provide reliable, globally recognized sustainability ratings and insights, that enable all companies to reduce risk, drive improvement and accelerate positive impact on our planet and society. Their rating methodology focuses on performance indicators across four major themes:
- Environment
- Labor and human rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable procurement
The rating system measures and verifies policies, actions and results of those themes on a 0 to 100 scale, weighted by materiality. Our Silver Medal rating puts Netskope in the 80th percentile of all companies rated by EcoVadis.
Some of our ongoing initiatives include:
- An internal environmental policy and management system which includes sustainability targets, employee training, and environmental management guidelines.
- Supplier resources that guide us to work with our suppliers to have mutual goals toward furthering diversity, equality, and inclusion, as well as sustainability.
- DEI education and awareness, as well as support for a growing number of affinity groups, which include Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON) and Vetskope, a community for military veterans from all over the world.
- Prioritizing programs that underscore the health and wellness of our employees with Global Wellness Days, quarterly company-wide paid days off that encourage employees to focus on personal wellness and community improvement, and supporting initiatives that promote mental health preservation and burnout prevention.
We continue to share our progress—including ratings from credible, independent, third-party organizations such as EcoVadis—as a commitment to our transparency with customers and to the industry as a whole. Netskope views sustainability as not only how we interact with and enhance the environment around us, but also as core to our ability to “keep security human.”
