Security is a team sport and should be everyone across an organization’s responsibility. From interns and new hires to the highest levels of executive leadership, security only works if everyone is pulling their weight and working toward the common goal of keeping the organization safe. But this is often easier said than done, especially as the industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
The first season of the Security Visionaries podcast examined the ways that business has been impacted as a result of security and network transformation. My colleague Jason Clark spoke with security and networking leaders from across industries exploring how they were navigating the world of transformation and innovation, continuing to show how security can ultimately serve as an enabler for business.
For the second season of Security Visionaries, I will be your host and will focus on how CIOs and technology leaders can approach “security as a team sport.” This is a topic I’ve long been passionate about, having written about it over the past few months, covering both the business value of security in the context of the SSE and SASE journey, as well as reframing perspective around supporting shadow IT as business IT.
I dive deep with CIOs and technology leaders from across industries with engaging conversations about how they are tackling transformation in their own organization and enabling their people through security. Some of the key topics we will be covering, among many others, include:
- Investing in people as a response to the growing cyber skills gap
- Creating a “Human Firewall” in your organization
- Cultivating more diversity in the cybersecurity workforce
- Collaborating with key stakeholder across the organization, including your CISO, head of HR, and board
- Enabling users to be better digital citizens through good cyber hygiene
My season kicks off with Jason, and you can listen to our conversation here. We’ll be bringing you new conversations every two weeks heading into 2023.
