Discover how Netskope solutions help support your organisation’s compliance efforts to comply with the SDAIA PDPL – Saudi Arabia
On September 7, 2023, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) issued the Implementing Regulations for the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and Data Transfer Regulations. Effective from September 14, 2023, these regulations establish Saudi Arabia’s first national data protection framework, modeled on GDPR. Organizations had until September 14, 2024, to meet compliance, which includes breach reporting within 72 hours, appointing Data Protection Officers, conducting impact assessments, and maintaining processing records.
The regulations also introduce stringent restrictions on cross-border data transfers, requiring specific safeguards for compliance. Businesses should act promptly to align with these requirements to ensure data protection and regulatory adherence.
