George Orwell frames the concept of acceptance very succinctly with “Happiness can exist only in acceptance”. And that’s what I’m hoping this series of blog posts will help you achieve. I hope it’s helped you to acknowledge the situation that’s occurring in your workplace today, and move towards acceptance and understanding of the use of cloud apps within your organization.
As I’ve said throughout the guide, you’re not alone in your struggles, and our research really highlights this – only 7 percent of respondents said they had a solution in place to deal with the use of unsanctioned apps within the workplace. Similarly, only a quarter believed they were already compliant with current regulations, with only 21 percent sure that they would be compliant with future regulations.
They’re currently a rare breed, these believers. But that’s not to say you can’t join them. It’s a case of educating the key players within your business, and taking them on that voyage of acceptance with you.
In all seriousness, with the GDPR looming, this is not just a nice to have, but something that could be the difference between business success and failure – dramatic, yes, but it’s reality.
App acceptance shouldn’t just be a box-ticking exercise. Widespread secure use of apps can deliver employee efficiency, improve the end-user experience and reduce IT costs and that’s surely a win-win situation.
Thanks for coming on this journey with me. I hope you’ve found it useful and learnt a little bit along the way. I’d love to hear your thoughts, worries, concerns, stresses and bothers related to app acceptance within the enterprise.
