Cloud security leader introduces its safe cloud enablement platform to ANZ with channel-first model: announces first local management appointments
Netskope™, the leader in safe cloud enablement, today announced that it has commenced operations in Australia and New Zealand. The company also announced it has appointed Yu Jing Cheng as regional sales director.
“Netskope meets a very real cloud security need and I’m delighted to have joined this company during a time of its incredible growth,” said Yu Jing. “We are going to market here with a very firm channel-first approach and signing partners such as M.Tech, NEC, Zimbani and Insicon illustrates this commitment.”
“The uptake of cloud services, especially SaaS, in Australia and New Zealand has increased rapidly in almost every sector in this market over the past couple of years with the goal to drive greater operational efficiency and cost saving,” Yu Jing added. “Although the confidence level of a transition to cloud services remains reasonably high in this region, in contrast, the security that is needed for a safe enablement has failed to keep pace. This is where our partners can add value to close that gap, and Netskope is here to help.”
Yu Jing is joined by Michael See as sales engineering director for Netskope ANZ and both are based in Melbourne.
Netskope was founded by a veteran team of distinguished engineers and principle architects from Palo Alto Networks, NetScreen/Juniper Networks, Symantec, McAfee and VMware. Through its flagship product, the Netskope Active Platform™, Netskope enables IT managers to find, understand and secure all cloud apps in real-time and across their entire infrastructure, regardless of location.
The solution addresses the ever-increasing challenge from shadow IT and also integrates with hundreds of apps like Microsoft Office 365, Box, Google Apps for Work, Dropbox and Egnyte for IT departments that have sanctioned these apps yet want deep visibility, security and control over user access and the data contained within them once they’ve rolled them out.
In the US, Canada, and throughout Europe, the company has garnered numerous industry awards and analyst recognition, and is considered the cloud access security broker (CASB) of choice as used by some of the largest high tech, insurance, financial, retail and healthcare organisations in the world.
Since its launch, Netskope has continued to innovate by providing enterprise-grade cloud DLP, encryption, anomaly detection and introspection. At the recent RSA Conference in San Francisco, Netskope rounded out its cloud-based deployment offering by introducing the industry’s first fully private, on-premises version to allow enterprises with the most stringent regulatory requirements to use the cloud while achieving compliance. In addition, Netskope announced participation in Box’s Platform Partner Program as an Elite member and extended support for Microsoft Office 365 via the new Management Activity APIs.
Netskope’s new presence in this region was formally announced today by chief executive officer and co-founder Sanjay Beri.
“CIOs everywhere need to eliminate the catch-22 between enabling cloud users to work with their preferred apps for productivity on the one hand, and organisational security, compliance and policy enforcement on the other,” said Beri. “Our newly appointed ANZ team and their channel partners will help their region’s CIOs meet that need.”
Both Yu Jing and Michael come to their new roles with more than 15 years of business growth achievement each. Yu Jing was most recently with Checkpoint, following several years with each Juniper Networks and Cisco. Michael spent many successful years at F5 Networks and Juniper Networks.
The local operation is initially focusing on the government, media, health care, and finance sectors – as well as cloud service providers across the board – and will announce further channel partner arrangements as the year progresses.
